How to Disable a Proxy Server or Proxy List 31 December 2015

Need to disable a proxy server?  Proxy servers are good for ISPs because they allow them to cache frequently downloaded data and store it on his or her central computers.  By accomplishing this, they reduce data costs because users are fetching the info from the local source as an alternative to long distance or overseas.  The concern is that proxy servers is usually slow and produce it difficult for virtually every web browsing you are doing.

The initial thing you can do to disable the proxy server is research on the web settings inside the web browser you make use of.  More often than not you can use this by using Start > Settings > Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections tab > LAN Settings, and uncheck all boxes (proxy and auto detect).  The exact menu titles and settings can be slightly different, but this could point you within the right direction on the way to disable the proxy server in your browser.  Unfortunately, you might find that your internet browser is not setup to utilize a proxy server and still have no way of disabling it.
Disable a Proxy Server
If the proxy server isn't setup in your internet browser, it might be that a ISP is forcing all traffic for their network by using a proxy server without providing you the choice of disabling it.  You have two options.  The first is usually to change ISPs.  Obviously this might be costly and cumbersome or not even an alternative.  The second options are to setup your own personal proxy server.  By repeating this you will be able to change your IP though your ISP could be forcing you through their unique proxy setup.

Disabling a proxy server is normally very easy to try and do and is just a matter of changing some options in your browser to stop your pc from using the proxy server.
